One of the four women to sign the Charter of the United Nations

Minerva Bernardino from the Dominican Republic signed two very influential documents of our time: the Charter of the United Nations as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In 1946, she joined Eleanor Roosevelt and the two other women in her “Open Letter to the Women of the World,” urging women to become active participants in politics and government.
