Rosika Schwimmer

Hungary

A visionary of world peace

Rosika Schwimmer from Hungary had a radical vision of world peace, which led to the creation of the World Federalist Movement. 60 years after she first envisaged it, this movement took a leading role in establishing the International Criminal Court. She was also one of the world’s first female Ambassadors, sent from Hungary to Switzerland in 1918.
